Private lessons are the heart of what a pickleball tutor does β and the single fastest way to improve at this game. In a one-on-one session, every minute is about you: your grip, your serve, your footwork, your shot selection, and the habits that are quietly holding your game back. Our private pickleball lessons Vaughan players book most are 60-minute sessions at a court convenient to you β in Maple, Thornhill, Woodbridge, or wherever in Vaughan you already play. Every new student starts with a friendly skill assessment in the first lesson, and leaves with a clear, personal improvement plan β the specific things to practise before we meet again. Lessons run $70 to $90 per hour depending on court and time, and most students save with a 3-lesson or 5-lesson package, which also keeps a consistent weekly rhythm β the thing that actually produces improvement. Patient, encouraging, and honest feedback, for every age and every level. This is tutoring, not a bootcamp.
A private lesson with Vaughan Pickleball Tutor is a structured coaching session, not just an hour of hitting. Every session includes:
You will leave every single lesson knowing exactly what improved today and exactly what to work on next. That clarity is the difference between taking lessons and actually getting better.
Every player walks onto the court with a different game and a different goal β so no two lesson plans here are the same. The first session is an assessment: we play, we drill, and we identify the two or three changes that will move your game the most. Then we work them one at a time. Adults learn best with the 'why' explained β so you'll always know the reason behind a grip change or a positioning rule, not just the instruction. We keep rallies alive and drills game-like, because pickleball is learned by playing, and we finish every lesson with live points so new skills get tested under real pressure. Between sessions you get short, specific homework β ten minutes of dink practice beats an hour of aimless rallying. Whether you're 25 or 75, a total beginner or a 4.0 chasing 4.5, the method is the same: patient teaching, honest feedback, and a plan that's actually yours.
You don't need anything to start. We bring quality loaner paddles in a range of weights and grip sizes β trying a few is actually the best way to choose your first paddle, and we'll give you honest, brand-neutral advice before you spend a dollar. All balls are provided, indoor and outdoor rated. Lessons run at courts across Vaughan: outdoor courts in Maple and Thornhill through spring, summer, and fall, and indoor community-centre and club courts through the winter, so your progress never has to stop for the season. Wear court or running shoes with lateral support and bring water β that's it. If you already own a paddle, bring it along and we'll check the grip size and condition as part of your first assessment.
This is a tutor service, not a bootcamp. Every lesson is built around your game, your pace, and your goals β with clear, encouraging feedback and a written plan so you always know what improved and what's next.
Group sessions never exceed four players β exactly one doubles court. No lines, no waiting, no getting lost at the back of a giant clinic. Every player gets seen, corrected, and encouraged, every session.
From twenty-somethings discovering the fastest-growing sport in North America to seniors who've made it their daily social game β we coach every age and every level, from first-ever rally to tournament prep.
We know Vaughan's courts β outdoor in Maple and Thornhill through the warm months, indoor through the winter β and we come to the court that's convenient for you, with evening and weekend times available.
