Pickleball is a doubles game β so learning it two at a time makes a lot of sense. Our semi-private pickleball lessons Vaughan couples, friends, and doubles partners book give you the personal attention of private coaching while splitting the cost: roughly $45 to $55 per person per hour, with the same structure, the same written improvement plans, and the same patient, encouraging teaching as our one-on-one sessions. Semi-privates are especially powerful for people who already play together β couples, neighbours, and regular doubles partners β because we can coach you as a team: who takes the middle ball, how to move together at the kitchen line, when to speed up and when to reset. They're also the most comfortable way for two nervous beginners to start, since you're learning alongside someone you know. Sessions run at courts across Vaughan β Maple, Thornhill, Woodbridge, and beyond β with paddles and balls provided. If you don't have a partner but like the format, tell us your level and we'll do our best to match you with another student.
Semi-private sessions follow the same structured format as our private lessons β with drills adapted so both players are working every minute. Each session includes:
Two players at a similar level get more from a semi-private than almost any other format β every drill has a live opponent, and every lesson doubles as practice with your real partner.
The key to a great semi-private is that nobody stands around. Every drill is designed so both players are working: one feeds while the other executes, then you switch; dinking and volley drills are naturally two-sided; and live points with coaching pauses keep both of you engaged and learning. When the two of you are at slightly different levels β very common with couples β we adjust drill difficulty per player so the stronger player is still stretched while the newer player builds confidence. And when you're a genuine doubles team, we spend part of each session on team play: stacking basics, middle-ball communication, moving forward together behind the third shot, and defending as a unit. Those team habits are nearly impossible to learn from solo lessons, and they win more recreational doubles matches than any individual shot.
Semi-private sessions are 60 minutes for exactly two players β that ratio is the point, so we don't add a third. Lessons run at outdoor courts across Vaughan from spring through fall and indoor courts in winter, scheduled around both players' availability, including evenings and weekends. All balls and loaner paddles are provided in a range of weights and grips, and we're happy to give unbiased advice when you're ready to buy your own. If you and your partner have different paddle preferences or old equipment, bring it along β a quick equipment check is part of the first assessment. All you need is court shoes, water, and a partner; if you don't have one, ask about being matched with another student at your level.
This is a tutor service, not a bootcamp. Every lesson is built around your game, your pace, and your goals β with clear, encouraging feedback and a written plan so you always know what improved and what's next.
Group sessions never exceed four players β exactly one doubles court. No lines, no waiting, no getting lost at the back of a giant clinic. Every player gets seen, corrected, and encouraged, every session.
From twenty-somethings discovering the fastest-growing sport in North America to seniors who've made it their daily social game β we coach every age and every level, from first-ever rally to tournament prep.
We know Vaughan's courts β outdoor in Maple and Thornhill through the warm months, indoor through the winter β and we come to the court that's convenient for you, with evening and weekend times available.
